DEPART FROM TAMPA/ORLANDO

The Group Airfare travelers should check in at the Tampa Airport in the late-morning. The group flight will depart at 1:57pm Wednesday afternoon, connecting through Charlotte. Overnight flight to Rome, with meals and entertainment provided in flight.
ARRIVE ROME / TRANSFER TO TIVOLI / AFTERNOON REHEARSAL

Our flights arrive at 9:15am, so we ask those travelers arriving that morning prior to the group flight to meet us at the airport. Note: for travelers who have arrived on the previous days into Rome, we ask you to meet us at Noon at the Hotel Massimo D/Azeglio (Via Cavour, 18, very close to Roma Termini train station). Any travelers arriving the night before and planning to stay near the airport and ride on the bus with the group flight, we need to know that in advance so we have adequate space on that motorcoach. Any traveler who has booked a flight which arrives after noon on July 11 will be responsible for their own transportion to the hotel – Rehearsal begins at 4:30pm and we cannot have group members waiting for late arrivers. Transfer to the Grand Hotel Duca D’Est (Via Nazionale Tiburtina, 330, in Tivoli). We have time for a shower and a brief rest before we have a 4:30pm – 6:30pm Read Through Rehearsal. At 7:30pm we have our Welcome Dinner together in the hotel. Benvenuti in Italia!

REHEARSAL / SIGHTSEEING
Friday, July 12, 2024
Breakfast provided in the hotel. This morning we have our First Full Rehearsal from 8:00am to 11:00am. We transfer into Rome, where will have our first day of Sightseeing (we will be split into different groups, 58 going to the Vatican today, 35 going to the Forum/Coliseum). At the close of today’s sightseeing at 4:00pm, we return to the motorcoach and transfer to Trastevere, a charming neighborhood of Rome will plenty of restaurant choices. Some restaurants are open all afternoon, others close at 3:00pm and re-open at 6:00pm or 7:00pm. Friday night is a busy time – we suggest doing some of your own research and make reservations on your own. Dinner is independent this evening, with a 9:00pm departure from Trastevere to Tivoli.

REHEARSAL / SIGHTSEEING
Saturday, July 13, 2024
After breakfast we have our Second Full Rehearsal from 8:00am to 11:00am. We transfer into Rome, where will have our second day of Sightseeing (35 going to the Vatican and 58 to the Coliseum). Following the guided tours (which will finish approximately 4:00pm), you will have free time in the Piazza Navona/Pantheon area of Rome. Free time this afternoon to explore, and there are numerous sites an easy walking distance from the Pantheon. The same advice for last night’s dinner reservations apply here – some extra research now will pay off with a relaxed meal in a good location. Dinner is independent this evening, with a 9:00pm departure from our drop-off point near Piazza Navona to Tivoli.

PERFORMANCE IN TIVOLI

Sunday morning we have our Third Rehearsal from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Independent lunch, with free time to enjoy the hotel pool and spa facilities. At 4:30pm we transfer to nearby Tivoli where we have a 5:00pm Acoustical Rehearsal (the open air piazza beside the entrance to Villa D’Est). We have dinner together at a nearby restaurant at 7:00pm, then have a 9:00pm Outdoor Concert in the piazza. Return to the hotel. Pack for tomorrow’s departure.

ORVIETO / SPOLETO
Monday, July 15, 2024
On Monday we transfer to Umbria, stopping in Orvieto en route. Free time for lunch and to explore in your small groups. Continue on to Spoleto, check into the Hotel Albornoz, with time to enjoy the pool. At 6:30pm we transfer to dinner at Ristorante Pecchiarda. After dinner we hop on the community moving walkways and escaltors up to have a Twilight Stroll to the illuminated 4th Century Roman Aqueduct. This is a great opportunity to have some gelato! Walk back to the hotel.

SPOLETO
Tuesday, July 16, 2024
We spend the day in Spoleto, beginning with an Informal Orientation Tour of the Piazza Mercato, Piazza Duomo, the Roman Aqueduct and the Rocca Albornoz (entrance included). Independent lunch, and return to the hotel in the late afternoon We have our 6:00pm Acoustical Rehearsal (Piazza Pianciani or Spoleto Roman Amphitheater tbc). We present our 9:00pm Shared Outdoor Concert with the Spoleto Town Band. Dinner independent, either prior to the concert or immediately after. Late return to the hotel.

ASSISI / DERUTA PERFORMANCE
Wednesday, July 17, 2024
Relaxed breakfast this morning with time to enjoy a morning swim in the hotel pool. At 10:00am we load instruments and we transfer to Assisi, where we have an 11:00am Orientation Tour, visiting the Basilica of St. Clare as we make our way across Assisi to the Basilica of San Francesco. Our Guided Tour continues, focused on the 13th and 14th century frescoes in the Lower and Upper Basilicas. The tour ends at 1:00pm, giving you free time to have lunch and explore Assisi. Mid-afternoon we transfer to Deruta. Deruta is the center of the Umbrian Glazed Pottery industry. We have an Acoustical Rehearsal, with a Catered Pre-Concert Reception leading to our Evening Outdoor Concert, hosted by the mayor. (Piazza dei Consoli tbc). Late return to Spoleto.

LUNCH IN BOLOGNA / WINE TASTING / VENICE LIDO

We depart Spoleto after breakfast, and after a restroom stop en route, we stop for a Group Lunch in Bologna. While Italy is well-known for its regional cuisine, the food in Bologna is held in especially high esteem. After lunch we visit the winery Umberto Cesari, where we have Guided Tour and a Wine Tasting. Continue on to Venice, where we board our Private Launch (with Luggage Service) and cruise to the Zattare stop. We walk to the nearby Hotel Don Orione, check in, with dinner independent.

VENICE

After breakfast we walk from the hotel at 9:30am to Venice Piazza San Marco. We take a Group Photo prior to our 10:00am Guided Walking Tour, where we will visit the Basilica San Marco, the Rialto Bridge and Market. After the tour we will have a 12:30pm Glass Blowing Demonstration by the Laguna Murano Glass artisans (showroom available with items to purchase). Remainder of the day free for you to explore!

PADOVA / PERFORMANCE IN VILLAFRANCA

Breakfast in the hotel. Mid-morning we board the private launch with our concert gear, then on the mainland loading the motorcoach and transferring to Padova . Free time for lunch. In the late afternoon we transfer to Villafranca Padovana, where the Sagra (city festival is taking place) We have an Acoustical Rehearsal, then with our cash allowance we are able to enjoy the food festival stalls prior to our 9:00pm Evening Concert (Villafranca Piazzale della Chiesa ). Late return to the hotel in Venice.

RETURN TO THE USA

Early departure from the hotel, as we walk to the marina and board the Private Launch (with Luggage Service) to transfer to Marco Polo International Airport. Check in for our return flights to the USA. Welcome Home!
